The revised proposed project’s purpose, as stated by the applicant, is to expand the Airfield Maintenance (AFM) Storage Yard to provide additional storage capacity for dry goods, material, and equipment that AFM uses to maintain both the LHD and international airport. A secondary benefit would be to provide the base for future additional aircraft parking, as shown in the LHD Master Plan. Future projects, including runway and taxiway reconstruction projects, will generate a significant amount of usable material, including gravel and recycled asphalt (RAP) that is a good resource for both AFM and future construction projects. These materials would be stored on the proposed expanded pad. The ADOT&PF will submit a new alternatives analysis, as the listed alternatives in the original public notice were evaluated with the previous project purpose in mind. All other information contained in the previous notice remains the same. The project site is located within Section 27, T. 13 N., R. 4 W., Seward Meridian; USGS Quad Map Anchorage A 8; Latitude 61.1866º N., Longitude 149.9818º W.; west of Helio Place, and south of Lake Hood Drive; in Anchorage, Alaska.
