Ms. Deborah Heebner stated purpose is to expand Milne Point Unit (MPU) Mine Site by 22.37 acres to obtain additional gravel material to meet the need of planned MPU development projects located at the Milne Point Unit Mine Site, within Sections 20 and 29, T. 13 N., R. 11 E., Umiat Meridian; USGS Quad Map Beechey Point B-4; Latitude 70.457219º N., Longitude -149.358822º W.; North Slope Borough, Alaska. The Milne Point Unit Mine Site is proposed to be expanded by a total of approximately 22.37 acres - of which 15.15 acres would be mined (1.6 acres of which is currently utilized as the mine road), 1.32 acres would be utilized for a haul road along the western side of the new north pit expansion, 2.5 acres would be used for overburden storage, and 3.4 acres would provide a buffer around the overburden storage area (1.3 acres of which would be preserved from any impact). The total amount of proposed new impacts to wetlands would be 19.47 acres.
