The City of Sioux Falls requests Department of the Army authorization to modify a stormwater detention pond, maintain a drainage ditch to original dimensions, and install a low-flow pipe parallel to the drainage ditch. The detention pond would be regraded, and outlet structure modified, in order to increase detention capacity and reduce required maintenance. The drainage ditch dimensions would be maintained to original designed capacity. The low-flow pipe would convey base flow to reduce vegetation growth, and therefore, maintain capacity and reduce required maintenance. The work is proposed in a residential neighborhood known as Platinum Valley, and would take place in waters of the United States that flow to the Big Sioux River.
