The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, will hold a public workshop on November 05th, 2018 to discuss the Corps’ flood risk management activities, existing flood risk, access and use and other topics that are relevant to the Los Angeles River within the area referred to as “Glendale Narrows.” The Corps will host several stations with displays where the public can ask questions and receive information from subject matter experts.

Date: Monday, November 05, 2018 Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Location: Elysian Valley Recreation Center, 1811 Ripple St, Los Angeles, CA 90039 Questions and comments will be taken throughout the workshop. Comment boxes will also be provided.

The Corps’ Operations Division, shares responsibility for operations and maintenance of Corps constructed flood risk management features in the Los Angeles River with Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. Federal responsibility extends to five dams, one debris basin, and 45miles of flood control channel, which includes the area referred to as the Glendale Narrows and depicted below. The Corps’ area of responsibilityin this area are defined by reaches that are color coded accordingly in the depiction.
