CONSTRUCTION OF A RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION IN ASCENSION PARISH

NAME OF APPLICANT: DAGR, LLC, c/o HYDRIK Wetland Consultants, Attn: Michael Henry, 6858 Micahs Way, Greenwell Springs, Louisiana 70739. LOCATION OF WORK: Located along an approximate 43.4-acre site, in Section 24, Township 8 South, Range 3 East, located on and south of LA Hwy 42, near Prarieville, Louisiana, in Ascension Parish, as shown on the enclosed drawings (Latitude 30° 19’ 5.98”N, Longitude 90° 56’ 40.65” W). This project is located in USGS Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 08070202- Amite River HUC. CHARACTER OF WORK: The applicant has requested Department of the Army authorization to clear, grade, excavate and deposit fill and/or aggregate material to construct and maintain a 143-lot subdivision. The residential subdivision would include roads, utility lines, underground box drainage, 2 retention ponds and a park/common area with a limestone walking path. Approximately 12,000 cubic yards of fill material would be hauled in and deposited to achieve required grade elevation. The proposed project is situated on an approximate 43.4-acre tract and would impact approximately 9.01 acres of jurisdictional wetlands. The applicant has claimed that the project has been designed to avoid and minimize impacts as much as possible. As compensation for unavoidable wetland impacts, the applicant proposes to use a Corps approved mitigation bank within the watershed of impact.
